Nancy Hardy opened TLC Montessori in September of 2000. She has her Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and has her Montessori Certification. She has worked with young children professionally for over 20 years. Nancy has two grown step-children, a eleven year old son with special needs, and a two year old granddaughter. She is looking at pursuing her Doctorate in Education. Her personal mission is to make a difference in the lives of each child.
Janice Rosenbaum has guided a successful Montessori Program in New Hope, Pennsylvania for 15 years. She obtained her formal Montessori Training through Arcadia University. She has a BA in Journalism, and has taken numerous educational classes at the Graduate level. She has taught Language to Montessori teachers and has conducted lectures for the National Association of Young Children at the Philadelphia Convention Center. She has been teaching for over 30 years and is often referred to, as the “teacher whisperer”
Olivia Young began her employment in October of 2003. She has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method. She completed her formal Montessori Certification in August of 2008 and is continuing her schooling to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education at Northampton Community College. As a facilitator with the 3-6 year olds, she is very clear on the Montessori Method and is constantly creating new materials. She is patient, understanding and respectful with the children. Olivia is the mother of two children and is a wonderful asset to TLC.
Erin Saenz came to TLC in December of 2005. She has a BA in Fine Arts with a minor in Art History from Seton University. Ms. Erin has worked with young children for many years. She is the mother of two boys and is very energetic, kind and patient. She is in responsible for implementing and overseeing the Art program. Erin facilitates in the 3-6 classrooms when necessary. She completed her Montessori Certification in 2007.
Matthew Overmiller has been empolyed at TLC since September of 2006. He has a BS in Elementary Education. He is the father of a one year old. He is very patient and kind. He has been a facilitator in one of the 3 to 6 year old rooms. He oversees the “Kid Writing” and after-school programs. Beginning in the fall 2010, he will be teaching the 1st through 3rd grade students; a new program for TLC.
Alisha Miller joined TLC in September of 2006. She has a BS in Music Education K-12. She runs the music program for the 3 to 6 year olds. She was in-house trained in the Montessori Method. The children learn the concept of rhythms and tempos. They study different types of musical instruments, different composers and develop an appreciation for music. She is very kind, loving and patient. Alisha takes great pride in her work, and is a welcomed addition to our program.
Pam Holt began her employment in January of 2007. She has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method and completed her formal Montessori training in 2009. She loves to work in the toddler room. Her patience with the children has been valuable to our program.
Kristina Schiffgens began working at TLC in August of 2007. She completed her formal Montessori Training at The Montessori Teacher Training of Philadelphia, and is AMS certified. She is head facilitator in the 3-6 room and is presently taking Early Education Classes at Penn State University. She is the proud mother of a baby girl who was born in July of ’09. Kristina is a very patient, sympathetic, and kind individual. She has been a great addition to our program.
Melissa Tempra began her employment in October of 2007. She has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method. She works in the 3-6 room and recently completed her formal Montessori training. She is the mother of two boys. She is presently taking Early Childhood Education classes at NCC. Melissa is very energetic and willing to learn. She is patient, kind and sweet to the children. She has been a great addition to our program.
Kayla Nelson began her employment November of 2007. She has her BS in Social Science, and has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method. She is working on her Masters in child psychology. She is a facilitator in the toddler room and infant room. As a mother of four children, she has learned to be patient, and compassionite making her a valued addition to our program.
Tracie Couch began her employment in January of 2008. She has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method and has a clear understanding of the Waldorf Philospophy. She has been instrumental in setting up and overseeing the toddler art program. She is a facilitator in the toddler room and is very kind and patient. She is the mother of a grown daughter and has been a terrific addition to our staff.
Ashley Kopp has been a toddler facilitator since February of 2008. She graduated from Penn State Universtity with her degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Ashley has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method. Her love of children and enthusiasm have made her an integal part of TLC.
Melanie Louey began her employment in August of 2009. She has worked with special needs children for a number of years. She has her degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State. She has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method. She is the mother of three children and is a facilitator in the infant room. Her enthuasiasm and compassion makes the infant for a perfect fit for her.
Dena Nagle began her employment in October of 2009. She has her BA in Elementary Education from York College in 2009. She is in the process of planning her wedding. She has been in house trained in the Montessori Method. She is a facilitator a 3-6 year old room and is very energetic, kind and understanding. She has been a great addition to our staff.
Caroline Secher began her employment in January 2010. She has her BA in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University in 2005. She is a facilitator in the 3 to 6 year old room. She has been in-house trained in the Montessori Method and is very patient, kind and caring.
